《油炸绿番茄》是由女性作家芬妮·弗兰格将自己的畅销小说《汽笛站咖啡馆的油炸绿番茄》改编成剧本而拍摄的电影,讲述了年近中年的家庭主妇伊芙琳听老太太妮妮讲了一对好姐妹伊吉和露丝数十年的经历,于是从中获得力量,开始改变自己,突破家庭的冷漠及束缚的故事。电影塑造了四位完全不同于经典好莱坞电影女性形象的女性角色,表达了女性独立意识的觉醒和追求自我的主张,是一部非常优秀的女性主义电影。
