Objective To investigate the presence of multiple peripheral nerve damage in patients with Bel’s palsy (BP). Methods The brainstem auditory evoked potential (BAEP) and short latency somatosensory evoked potential (SSEP) in patients with Bel’s palsy (BP) in acute phase were observed from the point of neuroelectrophysiology. Results The abnormalities of BAEP and SSEP in BP patients were 47.8% and 32.6%, respectively. The changes of the combined mean mean change of BAEP Ⅰ, Ⅲ and Ⅴ wave PL and Ⅰ ~ Ⅲ IPL and the change of SSEP around N13 And clinical manifestations have some contact. Conclusion It is speculated that BP patients may have clinical peripheral nerve and its root (nuclear) damage
