当今我国纸质媒体已争相进入“读图”时代:增大图片使用篇幅,增加图片使用数量,更多的报纸则纷纷开辟或增加新闻摄影专版。一时间,新闻摄影专版成了诸多纸质媒体高擎“图文并重、两翼齐飞”大旗,加强新闻图片报道的重要手段。作为浙江省惟一的省级晚报,钱江晚报在头版用大、用足新闻图片的同时,每周拥有5个列入前八版主要新闻版块的《每日新闻·瞬间》彩色摄影专版。一张每天32版的晚报,拥有这么多彩色摄影专版,在全国报业同行中间可能也为数不多。
