物质的性质是由其结构决定的，旋光性也不应例外。手性是人为抽象出的概念，并非分子结构本身。概念不可能决定旋光性。有机物的分子结构中都包含有螺旋结构，螺旋结构不是人为的概念而是实体。它有明确的方向性和许多描述它的参数。螺旋结构与旋光方向和旋光度大小可以联系在一起。螺旋结构才是导致旋光性的根本原因。
The nature of matter is determined by its structure, and the optical activity should not be an exception. Chirality is the concept of artificial abstraction, not the molecular structure itself. Concept can not determine optical activity. The molecular structure of organic matter contains a spiral structure, the spiral structure is not an artificial concept but an entity. It has a clear directionality and many parameters describing it. Helical structure and optical rotation direction and optical rotation size can be linked together. Helical structure is the fundamental cause of optical activity.
