随着脉冲电泳技术的发展,越来越多的链霉菌线性质粒被发现.链霉菌线性质粒的大小范围是9~640kb,末端为共价结合蛋白质并存在反向重复结构.其复制包括了中部起始的双向复制和末端蛋白起始的补了复制,这与同为末端共价结合蛋白质结构的腺病毒有显著不同.线性质粒可能有多种起源,它们既能以线状又能以环状形式复制,在接合转移及染色体整合过程中占有遗传优势,对链霉菌线性质粒的深入研究将有助于开发出一类新的原核生物线性载体系统.
