Objective To explore the effect of continuous medical intervention on the erectile function rehabilitation of patients with laparoscopic prostatectomy (LRP) who retain the neurovascular bundle (NVB). Methods From August 2012 to November 2013, our hospital received bilateral LRP surgery of bilateral NVB. Forty patients aged 48 to 69 years old were randomly divided into two groups (20 in each group). Group 1 is the control group; Group 2 is the continuity intervention group. All patients were able to complete normal erection before surgery. All patients were evaluated for the quality of life by comparing the IIEF score, the treatment compliance and SF-36 of the two groups after operation for 12 months. Results The post-LRP erectile function of both groups decreased significantly. At 12 months after operation, the IIEF score of the intervention group was 17.404 ± 5.85, significantly higher than that of the control group (13.60 ± 8.00), and the treatment compliance and quality of life were superior to those of the control group Control group. Conclusion The continuous medical interventions have a positive effect on the recovery of erectile function, treatment compliance and quality of life in patients with LRP.
