Traditional photodynamic therapy of tumors utilizes an exogenous photosensitizer that accumulates in the tumor to absorb the excitation light and then initiate the photodynamic reaction to produce active products that cull the tumor tissue. Aminoacetic acid propionic acid (ALA) is the basic raw material for heme synthesis in human physiological processes and is the precursor of protoporphyrins. After the ALA is converted into protoporphyrins in normal tissues, it is combined with Fe+ + into blood under the action of sub-chelating enzymes.
