Vanadium is an important alloying element, adding a few tenths of vanadium in the steel, the steel strength is significantly increased. The addition of vanadium (about 4%) to titanium based alloys significantly improves the strength and weldability of titanium. Vanadium high oxide is the sulfuric acid industry and petrochemical industry indispensable catalyst. Some vanadium-based alloys can be used as a wrapper for fast neutron reactors. Some alloys of vanadium and gallium (such as V, Ga) can act as superconductors that generate high magnetic fields. Pure vanadium in dilute sulfuric acid corrosion resistance ten times higher than titanium, can also be considered as a structural material. Electronic and aerospace industries, the ceramic industry uses both vanadium and vanadium compounds.
