西湖醋鱼是杭州的一道传统名菜。相传宋朝时,在杭州西湖附近有一个姓宋的青年,平日以打鱼为生。有一次得了病,因家境困难没有好的东西吃,他嫂嫂亲手在西湖捉了一条鱼,加醋加糖烧成菜给他吃,把病治好了。因为菜是用西湖鱼和醋糖调味制成,故称西湖醋
