基本概况花桥村地处东经104°50′,北纬27°10′,座落在云南、贵州两省交界的烟堆山下,全村总面积2km~2,耕地61.3ha,占全村总面积30%,海拔1,810—1,860m,向四周伸延10—20km,北界便是云南省管辖的烟堆山,海拔1,940m,南靠贵州省管辖的麻窝山,海拔2,400m,东与邻村新华梁子接壤,海拔2,100m,西连邻村龙翻身大坡,海拔2,000m。横贯全村的后河,汇流金沙江(长江上游)南岸支流牛栏江。花桥村是一个四面环山的低纬高原盆地,全村冬无严寒,夏无酷暑,年均温≥12℃,元月均温≥4.2℃,七月均温≥19.23℃,全年总积温4,100℃。
