The authors studied the role of a panel of serum proteins in the identification of prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia. Serum samples from 345 patients were used in this study. The oncology group included 246 patients who underwent radical prostatectomy at Johns Hopkins Medical College between March 1999 and April 2001, The tumor group consisted of 99 cases of histological evidence after biopsy of the hospital from April 1997 to April 2001
