巴西是GATT最早期的缔约国之一,1948年7月就已入关。但无论是入关初期还是此后的经济发展过程中,巴西政府对国内产业的保护程度总体上比较高,对出口产业也实行过多种直接、间接的支持措施,因此巴西的对外贸易体制与GATT对缔约国的要求有较大差距。几十年来,巴西在不同时期、不同环境下对外贸体制不断作出调整。
Brazil was one of the earliest State Parties to the GATT and entered the country in July 1948.
