Neo-historicism holds that literature reconstructs history and reconstructs history as an act of interpretation. Expositions of interpreters, without exception, have the imprint of their own environment, reflecting the interest and concern of contemporary critics. “Return to History ” “Reconstruct History ” is a major feature of American contemporary novels since the 1960s. As one of the most important novelists in the United States, Don DeLillo has always been concerned about the historical, political and cultural crisis in the United States. In the novel, he repeatedly reconsidered and re-examined major events in the contemporary history of the United States. His most representative post-modern historical novel Libra Constellation was created in the heyday of post-modernism in the 1980s. Through the reshaping of Oswald, a historical figure, Derrillo reconstructed the assassination history of Kennedy from the official version and criticized the postmodern society dominated by image consumption. Don DeLillo’s practice of literary creation shows that under the postmodern conditions, it is still possible for the artist to carry out such serious political and critical art practices as the modernism’s predecessors did.
