未来企业竞争的一个决战点——比谁的企业组织组合的快,解散时谁的成本低。面对市场激烈的竞争,为了应付瞬息方变的需求,产业升级是这几年来企业求发展的策略,企图以高品质、高科技及快速的研发能力,重让产品具有竞争的能力,而品质、成本、周期、创新是成为成功企业应同时必备的能力,缺少其中一项能力,犹如椅子短缺其中一只脚,无法稳当立足。然而,对于资源有限的中小企业,并无法透过资源的分配,来兼顾平衡应具备的竞争能力。以往有人提出垂直整合的观念,企图将所有能力都包含于企业体之内,但这需要有庞大的资本做后盾,是大企业的做法;对于中小企业而言,是不切实际的,这除了会提高固定及操作成本外,还会因为组织规模扩大,而减缓了企业对外界的反应能力,使企业优如恐龙般地迟钝,而终将被淘汰。

However, for SMEs with limited resources, it is not possible to balance the necessary competitiveness with the allocation of resources. In the past, some people proposed the idea of vertical integration in an attempt to include all capabilities within the corporate body. However, this requires a huge amount of capital to back it up. This is a practice for large companies; for SMEs, it is impractical. It will increase the fixed and operating costs, but also because of the expansion of the organization scale, which will slow down the company’s ability to respond to the outside world. This will make the enterprise as dinosaur-like as dull and will eventually be eliminated.
