As the literary genre always occupying the primary position in Chinese classical literature, poetry was translated and introduced to England and other European countries as early as the 16th century. The translation of Chinese classical poetry not only made Westerners have a certain understanding of Chinese literature and culture, but also exerted some influence on literary creation of some western countries, especially Britain. The earliest translations of ancient poems were mostly done by western scholars. Since the nineteenth century, more and more Chinese scholars have also joined the project of cultural transmission. The purpose of this paper is to compare and analyze two versions of “You Zi Yin” written by Xu Yuan and Amy Lowell and try to explain the different poems adopted by the two translators under the influences of different cultures translation strategy.
