The Plasmodium Rab protein, a member of the Ras superfamily, is found in specific parts of the pathogen of the parasite’s protein secretion and its activity is regulated by GTP. In order to explore the possibility of using Rab protein as a specific marker of the secretion pathway of Plasmodium protein, the authors identified 8 different Rab genes of Pfrab by PCR and identified Rab6 protein. Based on the conserved sequences of the GTP binding sites involved in the formation of Ras-related proteins, two sets of oligonucleotide primers were synthesized and PCRs were performed using genomic DNA and cDNA of Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 as a template.
