Structural integrity methods are often used to demonstrate the rationality of load transfer in engineering parts. The damage model predicts the breaking strength of a Ti alloy with sharp notches depending on the unnoticeable strength of the material and the critical length before the notched damage zone. The critical length of the damaged area usually depends on the size of the material, specimen, and notch. As a stress fracture criterion, the average stress criterion is often used to accurately predict the tensile strength of Ti alloy with sharp notch. The average stress criterion is improved based on the fracture data of the central fractured titanium alloy with different thicknesses. The predicted value of notch (fracture) strength is close to the test result, which shows that the improved average stress criterion can easily predict the notch tensile strength.
