Although the role of trace elements in the organism has long been valued by people, the role of trace elements in cataract has been reported. However, no reports have been reported on the changes of trace elements in the lens and retina during radiation injury. In order to investigate the biological effects of long-term, low-dose ionizing radiation, the contents of trace elements (zinc, iron, etc.) were determined by the AAS method using the radioactive damage of cobalt (60) As a result, the content of trace elements in the fractionated irradiation group (167 ° C and 84 ° C) was significantly lower than that of the control group and there was opacity of the lens (pathological findings). Therefore, it can be considered that before the onset of the ocular irradiation or early after the injury, It is feasible to mediate the metabolism of trace elements, reduce their damage, or reverse the damage.
