论述了在ＣＲＴ中各膜层的作用以及对膜层的要求，研制了一台彩色显像管制造用多功能镀膜机。它主要由真空系统、真空蒸发系统和控制系统等组成。该镀膜机不仅可对ＣＲＴ的屏蒸亮铝和黑铝，而且可蒸镀曝光台调整用的渐变滤光片。由于采用了大电流电极结构、磁力传动器等技术，使系统可靠性大大提高。控制系统采用了可编程序控制器（ＰＬＣ），使系统实现了自动控制。
