激光武器做为可能最先实用的定向能武器已经引起世界的瞩目。根据用途,激光武器可以分为战略激光武器和战术激光武器两类。战略激光武器将放在空间轨道上,执行反洲际弹道导弹、反卫星等任务。研制战略激光武器是激光武器研究工作的最终目标。这是一个需要投入巨额经费的长远研究项目。而战术激光武器相对来说技术比较成熟、所需的经费较少,有可能在不久的将来实用化。
Laser weapons as the first practical directional energy weapon has attracted worldwide attention. According to purposes, laser weapons can be divided into two types of strategic laser weapons and tactical laser weapons. Strategic laser weapons will be placed on space orbit, the implementation of anti-ICBM, anti-satellite missions. Development of strategic laser weapons is the ultimate goal of laser weapons research. This is a long-term research project that requires a huge investment. Tactical laser weapons, on the other hand, are relatively mature technologies with relatively small requirements and may be put into practical use in the near future.
