Objective: To investigate the effect of hyponatremia on the prognosis of congestive heart failure (CHF). Methods: A total of 139 patients with CHF were collected and analyzed. The correlation between the degree of hyponatremia and the degree of CHF and the mortality of CHF patients were observed. Results: Among the 139 patients, 38 were in the low sodium group and 17 were dead, with a mortality rate of 44.7%. In the normal serum sodium group, 101 patients died of l5 cases with a mortality rate of 14.9%. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.01). The degree of hyponatremia was related to the mortality (P <0.05). The severity of hyponatremia was also related to the severity of CHF (P <0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The prognosis of CHF is related to the degree and degree of hyponatremia. Hyponatremia is an important predictor of CHF death.
