伊盟鄂托克旗林业局在深入贯彻“林牧为主,多种经营”的经济建设方针中,充分发挥部门作用,变指导型为服务型,积极为畜牧业服务。在造林工作中,这个局首先抓了牧场防护林和防风固沙林的建设,积极发展灌丛牧场。全旗目前共种树90.8万亩,围建树草库伦3549处,面积达97.56万亩。人工建成的“空中牧场”成了为牲畜提供“接口草”的“第二牧场”。
