本文对Antithesis这一英文修辞的汉译方法作了初步探索和研究。作为政治演说家和文人墨客乐此不疲使用的修辞方式,它具有整齐匀称的形式美感和含蕴隽永的深刻内涵。由于汉语中不存在与Antithesis完全等同的修辞,许多论著中将Antithesis等同于汉语修辞对偶。本文旨在通过分析Antithesis与对偶的异同,明确Antithesis的概念,总结出一套能够较为全面反映Antithesis含义的科学系统的汉译方法。
This article makes a tentative exploration and research on Antithesis, an approach to Chinese translation of English rhetoric. As a rhetorical device used by political orators and literati, it enjoys a well-proportioned sense of formal beauty and meaningful meaning. Antithesis is equivalent to Chinese rhetoric duality in many works because there is no rhetoric completely equivalent to Antithesis in Chinese. This paper aims to clarify the concept of Antithesis by analyzing the similarities and differences between Antithesis and duality and summarize a set of Chinese translation methods that can comprehensively reflect the scientific meaning of Antithesis.
