为满足云贵高原地区的需求，在CA488型化油器式汽油机的基础上，研制了CA488G高原发动机。介绍了该机设计原则和设计内容。台架试验及整车道路试验表明，CA488G型发动机的各零部件工作正常，无爆振、过热等现象，其动力性能优于CA488型发动机，达到了设计要求。
In order to meet the needs of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, CA488G plateau engine was developed based on the CA488 carburetor-type gasoline engine. Introduced the aircraft design principles and design content. The bench test and vehicle road test showed that all the components of CA488G engine were working normally with no explosion and overheating. The dynamic performance of CA488G engine was superior to that of CA488 engine and the design requirements were met.
