京郊日报(原名北京日报郊区版)始创于1980年,是北京日报报业集团主办、在首都郊区发行量最大的一张综合性报纸。 作为一张四开四版的“小报”,京郊日报原以报道本市郊区新闻为主。随着形势的发展和读者需求的增长,从1999年初开始,报纸增设了“中外时讯”(以下简称时讯)专版,每周二、四、六刊出,主要刊登国际、国内新闻。这一专版的加盟,大大丰富了京郊日报的内涵,使其跳出了纯粹地方小报的束缚,进一步成为以本地新闻为基础、涵盖国内外新闻的综合性报纸,增加了其在读者心目中的分量。
