弹性键联接在传递扭矩时可减小动载荷和振动。它是由轴3、套在轴上并具有间隙的零件如齿轮1和键2组成。轴上直角键槽的深度较键的直径大些。用垫圈4固定零件,防止轴向移动。联接时,把两端反向弯转的键杆装入槽内,并将其一端插入轴的径向孔,另一端装入制在零件上的端面槽中。当轴转动时,键以其弯端挤压零件,使零件转动。此时,键在所加载荷的作用下产生弹性弯曲和扭转,以保证轴与零件间的载荷传递具有弹性,从而降低动载荷并减小振动。键的变形,引起其一弯端转动α角而轴上键槽
