Lawrence is an extremely important and controversial writer in the 20th century English literary world. While inheriting the tradition of 19th-century realism novels, his novels present the characteristics of modernism with his unique expressions and psychological themes. In his works, Lawrence vividly portrayed the fierce clashes between the natural human nature and the modern mechanical forces in the modern Western industrial system. This conflict led directly to the alienation of human beings. In a broad sense, the alienation of people manifests itself as “people’s apprehension overwhelmed, anxiety, social degradation and personal decadent spirit, pessimistic despair, loss of personality, indifference, loneliness, powerless, pointless , No faith principle ”[1] and so on.
