When it comes to misuse, people tend to think of misuse of foreign language learners (ie, non-native speakers), but this article is about the misuse of Japanese speakers. In the mass media represented by Japanese newspapers and periodicals, the phenomenon of misuse is especially frequent and frequent. Although the reason is not only closely related to the native language users’ own sense of language norms, it is undeniable that the different viewpoints held by scholars about the definition of “misuse” are even objectively opposed Contributed to the phenomenon of misuse. On the other hand, if we look at the linguistic aspects of diachronic studies, we will find that some of the phenomena that were formerly viewed as misuses have been or are becoming customary, thus complicating the issue of misuse. Based on the previous studies, this paper discusses the “misuse” and “idiomatic” and related terms, and uses the empirical method to conduct a specific investigation and analysis.
