The 22nd Universal Postal Union General Assembly will be held from August 23 to September 15, 1999 in Beijing. President Jiang Zemin served as honorary chairman of the Organizing Committee of the General Assembly of the People’s Republic of China and Vice Premier Wu Bangguo was the chairman of the Organizing Committee. There will be over 2,000 delegates from 189 Member States and over 20 international organizations.
