我国的设计学始于20世纪末,缘于1998年国务院对学科目录调整后颁布实施的学科专业目录——将设计艺术学作为二级学科列入文学一级学科下设的艺术学一级学科门类之中。经过10余年的发展,设计学成为了艺术学一级学科中独立一级学科门类。然而,与起源较早的发达国家相比,我国的设计艺术教育还存在许多不足,例如教育理念滞后、理论深度不够、师资队伍专业性程度较低、课程体系不够健全等问题,影响着设计艺术专业人才的培养质量。
