To meet the needs of users connecting to LANs and WANs, Lannet has developed a central switch to connect Ethernet and ATM networks. Lannet has been split by Madge Networks N.V and will become an independent company by the end of the year, with the launch of Meritage 1400 in September, a supplement to an Ethernet switch on the Lannet production line. The Meritage 1400 supports both Gigabit Ethernet and ATM networks on a 90Gbps backplane with 14 slots for 10 / 100Mbps cards. When fully loaded, the Meritagel400 can support up to 326 Ethernet ports, 120 Fast Ethernet ports or 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
