艺术的生命来自于创造,来自于呼吸更多的新鲜空气。中国盆景艺术的发展,历经多年来的曲曲折折,有过欣喜、成功,也有迷惘、徘徊和痛苦,而伴随着近十年来的发展,始终围绕在艺术家们头脑中的问题只有一个——创造是什么?更新的路在哪里? 1991年在北京召开的首届中国国际盆景会议,在中国盆景艺术发展的里程表上,为自己打上了新的标志。来自中国、荷兰、加拿大、澳大利亚、南朝鲜、香港等八个国家和地区的300多名代表共聚京都,畅谈世界盆景的发展趋向,为一度沉闷的中国盆景界,吹来了一股新鲜的空气,犹如打开了一个新的窗口……下面是本刊记者采访大会的部分记录:
