In an effort to improve the performance of its crankshafts, Leland Motor Company decided to adopt a short-time gas cryogenic carbon-helium-infiltration process with a processing time of 3 hours to replace the long-time gas nitridation process, which usually takes 60 hours, after consultation with BOC. To this end, Leland Company has improved the well-type furnace with a tracking system associated with the exhaust pipe. Ammonia and carbon gas were separately fed into the furnace.
