In this paper, a kind of filter made of polystyrene, high-capacity sampler was used to collect the dust particles in the atmosphere. After drying in ashing furnace at 400 ~ 425 ℃, the residue was decomposed by HCl-HF and HNO_3, Divided into several copies, appropriate dilution, adding control matrix material, and finally by atomic absorption method for the determination of atmospheric dust 22 kinds of metal elements. Comparing the performance of commonly used filter media such as glass fiber, cellulose filter paper and filter membrane, the methods of past atomic absorption spectrometry for metal element determination are proposed.
