近年来,土石坝得到广泛的采用,其原因之一,即是对土石坝筑坝材料逐渐放宽要求,扩大使用范围,除一些传统上采用的材料(粘土、壤土、砂砾、堆石)外,某些离坝址较近,但在过去被认为质量不合格的材料也可被广泛采用。充分做到因地制宜就地取材,从而带来较大的经济效益,发挥了土石坝的优势。实践证明,只要认真通过实验,精心设计精心施工,对筑坝材料放宽限制是完全可行的。
