党章是党的总章程,集中体现党的理论和路线方针政策以及党的重要主张,规定党内的重要制度和体制机制,对推进党的工作、加强党的建设具有根本性的规范和指导作用。党的十七大将根据形势和任务的发展变化对党章进行适当修改,这有利于全党更好地学习和遵守党章,更好地把中国特色社会主义伟大事业和党的建设新的伟大工程推向前进。
