去年年底,少数高等学校的学生参加了学潮。直接引发这一学潮的原因,各地各校有所不同。但总的来说,是几年来反对资产阶级自由化思潮旗帜不鲜明、态度不坚决的结果。应该明确,不管参加这次学潮的具体原因、个人动机有什么不同,它的社会效果是不好的,这种做法是错误的。在当前和今后相当长的时期,坚持四项基本原则,反对资产阶级自由化,着重解决大学生的根本政治原则和政治方向问题,是高等学校思想政治工作的首要任务。同时,还应该明确,高等学校反对资产阶级自由化,一开始就要从改进我们的思想政治工作入手。高等学校的领导同志、广大教师和干部,作为一个教育者,要研究如何针对受教育者的实际情况进行教育。不改进教育方法,也难以达到教育的目的。也就是说,在进行思想政治工作时,既要旗帜鲜明,又要方法得当。我们希望,广大的高等教育工作者进行深入的、系统的调查研究,全面地、科学地分析大学生的思想现状,研究大学生的身心发展规律,注意在发展大学生智力因素的同时培养他们形成良好的非智力因素,以使我们高等学校的思想政治工作更有成效。下面发表的一组(三篇)文章,是进行这种研究的尝试。欢迎广大读者、作者都来参加讨论,参加这一具有重要意义的研究工作。

We hope that a large number of higher education workers conduct in-depth and systematic investigations and studies, comprehensively and scientifically analyze the status quo of undergraduates’ ideology, study the law of physical and mental development of undergraduates, and pay attention to cultivating them while developing their intelligence factors Intellectual factors in order to make the ideological and political work in our higher education more effective.
