A flotation method studied by the US Bureau of Mines can be used to separate carbonates and phosphate minerals from non-altered phosphate ore from the Flowserve layer. This method involves the fluorosilicic acid inhibition of phosphate minerals and the flotation of carbonate minerals with fatty acid emulsions. In individual laboratory tests, the carbonate is selectively removed and phosphate recovery can reach 60-80%. In a continuous cycle test, coarse and fine grades need to be graded and separately treated to give a 65% recovery of P2O5. Concentrate grade P_2O_526 ~ 33%. Flotation tailings mainly contain carbonate and phosphate minerals, is a possible fertilizer, when reacted with H_3PO_4, can be about P_2O_540% of concentrated phosphate fertilizer.
