曾运乾(1884—1945),字星笠,晚年自号枣园,音韵学家,湖南省益阳人。早年毕业于湖南优级师范学堂,辛亥革命后,长沙报纸风起云涌,先生写得一手好文章,常为报社撰写评论,又曾供职于湖南官书局,从事于编述之业。闲时爱研读古书,精于经史小学,特别对声韵学造诣尤深。曾悟喻母三等,古读当与匣同,其四等当与定同,撰写《喻母古读考》以阐发其例,1927年在任东北大学教授时,将该文发表在校刊上,被当时的声韵学界称为定论。后先
