当今世界文献数量剧增,任何一个单位都无法将所有文献收集齐全。据报导,学科著作数量的增长是7～10年增长一倍,这是学科发展的必然趋势。但从现在图书情报部门的馆舍设备及经费来看,是很难承受这种发展势头,也跟不上这种发展趋势的。所以,必须在文献资源收集上走协调协作之路。即建立文献资源保障体系,从宏观上控制文献资源布局问题,借以达到资源共亨的目的。
With the dramatic increase in the number of documents in the world today, no single unit can collect all the documents. It is reported that the growth of the number of disciplines doubled from 7 to 10 years, which is the inevitable trend of discipline development. However, from the perspective of the library equipment and funds of the current library and information service, it is hard to withstand this trend of development and keep up with this trend of development. Therefore, we must take the road of coordination and cooperation in the collection of literature resources. That is to establish a system of document resources security, from the macro-control of the literature resources layout issues, in order to achieve the purpose of a total of resources.
