The Conform extrusion process was invented and developed by the UK’s Atomic Energy Commission’s (UKAEA) Preston Sprinfied Laboratory Metal Forming Methodology Research Group and patented in 1972. For the first time in 1971, the process was successfully used in practice and was first used to solve problems in nuclear power development. It is now widely used in the production of wire rods, profiles and hollow profiles. Conform continuous extrusion process is to feed continuously into the blank, thanks to the grooved rotating squeeze wheel friction to the mold, to produce enough pressure and temperature, the feed material through the mold to form the desired extrusion products.
