The politeness principle, as an important pragmatic principle, plays a key role in people’s daily communication, especially in intercultural communication. Leech’s politeness principle and its norms are explained from the pragmatics perspective, focusing on the polite and verbal behavior in vocational English oral classroom teaching mode, with a view to enhancing learners’ pragmatic competence.
