On the 100th anniversary of the publication of Dream Interpretation, the Freudian Museum opened in St. Petersburg, ending an official denial of psychoanalysis in the former Soviet Union. Psychotherapy was very popular in Russia until it was banned by Stalin in the 1920s (and banned as well as genetics). President Yeltsin changed the situation seven years ago.
