近年来,江苏省扬州市公安局刑警支队坚持从刑侦工作和队伍建设的实际出发,把人才问题作为提高队伍素质和整体战斗力的关键环节来抓,合理调整人才队伍结构,大胆改革人才培养机制,逐步建立处(科)级后备干部、专业技术人才、刑侦岗位能手三个序列的人才库,实施全员人才战略,分层次、分批次、分等级进行培训,引导和促进刑侦民警向专业化、专家化方向发展,形成了学业务、练技能、比实绩的良好氛围,有力地促进了队伍建设一年一个新台阶,破案攻坚能力和执法水平不断增强。2002年以来,支队先后被评为江苏省公安系统科技先进集体、市严打整治斗争先进集体、市人民满意政法单位,有27人次立功受奖。
