Lysyl hydroxylase (LH), an enzyme that catalyzes the hydroxylation of lysine among collagen and more than 15 other proteins, plays an important role in some physiological and pathological processes. LH has a variety of isozymes, its activity depends on the presence of some prosthetic groups, but also by some substance inhibition. The study found that some of the tissue fibrosis and genetic diseases and LH have a great relationship. In recent years, with the deepening of the enzyme research, is expected to find a new target for the treatment of these diseases.
