在不少工厂的熔模精密铸造车间里,目前所使用的熔蜡装置一般都采用电阻加热和蒸汽加热两种方法。这两种方法虽具有它们本身的一些优点,但也存在某些难以避免的缺点。如在用电阻加热时,电阻丝温度高,除了电阻丝易损坏及易起火外,还因为蜡料导热性能差,要避免蜡料不脂化变质,往往还需要外加水浴套。用蒸汽加热虽能克服上述缺点,但对一些小型工厂来说,没有锅炉设备,蒸汽来源困难。而对某些老厂亦因铸造车间距原来的锅炉过远,给管道安装和维护带来不少困难。同
