在浙江临海兰田中心校,有位年近六旬的老师为了学生,独自坚守校园5年,在当地成为美谈。每个晴天的早上,在海拔670多米高的校园里,张万金老师都会与6名学生在门卫的帮助下升国旗,冷清校园顿时充满了生机。兰田中心校办学历史悠久,早在新中国成立前就开设有学校了,学生最多时曾有四五百人,10个班级,近20位老师。兰田山头现有5个行政村,2000多户,8000多人口。这几年,由于外出打工的人数增多,不少学生都跟随家长去了山外面的学校就读,也有不少条件稍好的家庭,把孩子放到了椒江、临海城区等学校就学。2008年下半年,学校只留下了张万金老师和另一名即将退休的老教师。去年夏天,因另一名教师退休,张万金老师就成了学校最后一名教师。其他学生家长这下急了,纷纷把小孩送到山下 Lintian in Zhejiang Lintian Center School, a teacher nearly sixty years for the students, alone on the campus for five years, the United States became a local talk.
