In the steel surface chemical heat treatment process, carbonitriding (gas cyanidation) is a more advanced method than carburizing. It is the steel containing 60 to 90%. Carburizing gas and 20 to 40% ammonia gas at a temperature of 500 to 700 ° C or 750 to 900 ° C for several hours to allow carbon and nitrogen to penetrate to the surface layer of the steel member. If you use low-temperature carbonitriding, then the workpiece does not have to be quenched, you can get a hard surface. If high-temperature carbonitriding is used, then quenched after treatment, a hard, good wear resistant layer can be obtained on a strong center layer.
