当1982年在山东省会济南历山东麓创建的山东省工艺美术学院,于1983年开始招生时,只招收了染织、装潢两个专业共24名大学生;40名教师中只有一名高级职称教师;只有几座楼房和一批平房。没有图书楼,没有实习楼,没有办公楼;没有绿化,没修好道路。校园内外透出几分荒凉,人们来到这里会瞪大眼睛:“这是一所学院?”中央工艺美术学院等院校的领导、教授及社会专家给予我们及时的支援,经常来指导工作和授课,保证了教学运转和教学质量。经过八年多的建设,山东工艺美院已拥有染织、装潢、工业造型、装饰艺术四个经国家教委批准的本科专业;环境艺术、服装两个专科专业及基础课教学部、共同课教学部、马列主义教学部;有470名
