Hypobaric hypoxia is one of the major stressors confronting high-altitude flight personnel and is closely related to the body’s iron metabolism. Studies have shown that hypoxia-inducible factor (HIFs) play an important role in hypoxia response regulation of Hepcidin expression and iron homeostasis. This review summarizes the recent studies both at home and abroad about the homeostasis of HIFs and Hepcidin in the regulation of iron homeostasis under hypobaric hypoxia and aims to provide the basic information for future prospective studies.
